Selecting the church that is right for you is an important decision. Hebrews 10:25 lets us know “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” It is clear that God wants us to be a part of a church. As you make the decision about which church to join, consider the following:
- Doctrine: Does the church believe in the Trinity (father, son, and Holy Ghost)? Does it believe that all are born into sin and Jesus who was sinless came into the world in order for mankind to be brought back into fellowship with God, and through accepting Jesus we can have everlasting life?
- Biblical Teaching: Is the bible the primary resource used? Selecting a church that believes the bible is the final authority on every church matter is imperative.
- Worship: Are you encouraged to worship God?
- Discipleship: Are you encouraged and equipped to grow spiritually?
- Fellowship: Does the church provide you with opportunities to fellowship with other believers?
- Prayer: Above all, pray and ask God where he would like you to attend.
